Design & Technology Clubs

  • GCSE Support Sessions - Wednesday & Friday lunchtimes in T5.
Y10/Y11 students studying a GCSE Design & Technology course (in particular Graphics and Resistant Materials) can get extra support outside of lesson time to help maximise their achievement. These are intended to be 'drop in' sessions for help with classwork or coursework, or simply to use the resources and equipment available in T5.

  • Design Challenge – As last year, we plan to invite students who have performed well in Design & Technology to attend the Young Engineers Design Challenge at Derby University. The day long design and build challenge is in competition with other Derbyshire Schools for a variety of prizes. In 2007, one of our Y7 teams beat 24 other teams to win some fantastic prizes for themselves and the school. Hopefully this year will be equally as successful!

  • Cardboard Engineering Workshop - Wednesday & Friday lunchtimes in T5.
Learn how to make moving automata, unfolding packages, pop-up mechanisms and more. Lots of models to make, take home and lots more to design and create yourself.

  • Bike Club - lunchtimes in T2
Learn how to fix and maintain your bike. Get the chance to re-vamp your bike with a re-spray.

  • Year 7 Food Club - Mondays, 3.10 - 4.45 in T6
An introduction to basic cooking and nutrition. Make savoury surprises, delicious desserts and develop skills for life!
