Department Overview
The Humanities Department is made up of three subjects, History, Geography and Religious Education. Staff within the department work closely together, sharing good practice, an ambition to introduce students to the wider world and foster an informed appreciation of life, learning and leadership.
Our students develop skills and competences which begin during the Year 7 Opening Minds course and continue throughout their school life. These skills are integral to a well-rounded individual. Students also acquire the ability to work in a team and value the opinions of others. They are taught using a wide range of key strategies for learning which prepares them for future success.
All three subjects are popular with students and have achieved long-standing examination successes.
